We have used a variety of squirrel pokers over the years. While some people are adamently against them citing safety concerns, used properly, our squirrel pokers minimize bite risk and dispatch your quarry humanely, even large buck fox squirrels that the smaller falconers here have trouble dispatching with chest compression.
 
Our handcrafted squirrel poker sports a left or right-handed deer antler handle with smooth finger grooves for a comfortable grip. The shaft is crafted from a railroad spike. It's three-sided design gradually increases in size, making it easy to puncture tough squirrel skin, but wide enough to hit internal organs on the first try. This is one of our favorite things about the design. Multiple stabs are very rarely necessary. The sides of the shaft are not sharp, so your bird won't hurt herself if she grabs it.
