This one-of-a-kind squirrel poker is crafted from Jacob sheep horn with dyed epoxy fill. The shape of the handle is different from some of our other styles, working best when the shaft is rested between the ring and middle finger. This poker is suitable for hands of all sizes.
 
About Our Squirrel Pokers
 
All squirrels are not created equal. Our squirrel pokers are the result of years of hawking eastern fox squirrels in the heart of Appalachia-- a design born of necessity with the prey in mind as equally as the predator. Used properly, our squirrel pokers minimize bite risk and dispatch quarry humanely. 
 
We've worked with Tim Woody at Deeply Rooted Treeworks to bring you our field-tested design. It's a true blend of form and function. Each handle Tim creates is unique. He utilizes a variety of materials and processes. The shafts are ground from railroad spikes. They're pointed at the tip and gradually increase in size, making them easy to puncture tough squirrel skin and wide enough to hit internal organs on the first try. The sides of the shafts are not sharp, so your bird won't hurt herself if she grabs them.

About Our Optional Kydex Holsters
 
We also offer custom kydex holsters. They can be clipped to your hawking vest or belt. We've lost a few squirrel pokers over the years. It's gut wrenching when they're special. Our kydex holsters keep your poker locked in and secure.
 
They utilize a Blade Tech Tek-Lok clip. We love the extra lock once you've snapped the clip into place. The kydex itself is custom molded to fit your poker. Our pokers are specifically designed with a square ledge near the handle so they click into the holster.
